We’ve arrived! And our luggage did too!
Actually, the trip has been stunningly smooth and full of wonderful suprises, the kind that are blessings, not those sorts of surprises that have you wondering why you left home in the first place. We’re so thankful for your prayers for safe travels.
Right now, we’re in the Italian Rivera, in Riomaggiore to be precise. We spent a week with our friends, Chris and Chari, in Zurich, Switzerland, prior to showing up here. You can check out all my old Zurich posts from last year about this time to see what that place looks like. Here’s a picture of the town we’re staying in right now. Actually, I think we took this from our room.
There are no cars in the town, so we’ve been doing a lot of hiking around. Our legs hurt, but it makes for all the more appetite for gelato and good pasta in the evenings. This is the birthplace of pesto and foccacia bread. We’re eating plenty of both.
We’re on to the outskirts of Florence next, but as usual, we’re not sure how great internet will be there. Just wanted to check in and let you know how it’s going. We’re loving every minute of our time here and are enjoying the sabbatical from Dan’s studies and medical practice.
Oh, and we’re doing more postings on my twitter stream, which you can read here: http://twitter.com/amyletinsky. There’s a place there to subscribe to it via an RSS reader, if you’d like to keep track of updates. I’m trying to post pictures when I can.
Ciao! Time for our anniversary dinner, to celebrate our 9 years together!
